Open Kitchen MCR is an innovative social enterprise working with food businesses to source perfectly edible food that will otherwise go to waste, and transform it into beautiful catering for any occasion. “Feeding bellies not bins!” is the most environmentally friendly thing we can do with food that will otherwise go to waste, so by ordering catering from us, you are helping to combat climate change, and lower our city-region’s carbon footprint.


Income generated from our catering operation subsidises our work with local communities. We support food banks, breakfast clubs, and homelessness support organisations with hot nutritious meals, , snacks, drinks and toiletries. By ordering catering from us, you’re also supporting people in crisis in Greater Manchester.


Our menus are constantly changing based on the food we source that day. Our amazing chefs play a daily game of Ready, Steady, Cook, working with the beautiful ingredients we intercept to create a huge range of delicious dishes for any event or special occasion. We think of our menus as a framework for putting good food to use, rather than an exact list of what dishes or items you will receive. We hope that you will agree that receiving a different menu of food made from lovely fresh ingredients every time you order with us is just part of the fun.


But that doesn’t mean we don’t aim to please. We offer a range of styles of food, and are happy to meet any dietary requirements – veggie, vegan, Halal, gluten free, or any mix. We are also happy to cater for any allergies or intolerances.
